This is a song about romance, the memory of a kiss hours after the moment’s gone.  Just like the picture.

Ingrid

a through-composed electronic song that  sort of goes all over the place.  There’s arppegiators and strings, and orchestral momentum and noodly organ solos.  Still, it’s kind of fun.

Later that morning Ingrid tripped,
Slightly over Nathan over records over gifts
Into formica and out of her skin
tripping on laughter and laughing on the in-
sideways cocked head and eyebrows up
half smile locked on sweet young shoulderblades
lifting toward even-handedness,
as she kissed and the smile fades

Later that year, Ian was born,
Colic and crying.
Even with love, weather broke through shutters.
and cold, and shuddering
and sore and nursing
and left. And needlessly alone.

Leave me crawling like my son
My bittersweet eventual meaningful crushing.
