Not putting the pieces back together. Break ups. amiright? It is hard to write music when I’m not miserable. Some nice reverse B3 in there for good measure.

Up Up Down Down
Sometimes we fight. Sometimes it’s hard to take that too seriously, and sometimes everything good left the room long before you’re done breathing fire. This is all about a fun jazz pop feel, with a stick bass and competent (read not mine) harmonies.
Victory
Why a horse? Well, the subject of the song steps off her high one at one point, and this horse is climbing a mountain, so it’s got that going for it. I suppose at this point I should share my highly involved image selection methodology for this site. I go on flickr, I input the song title and filter by creative commons pictures (all of these pics are attributed with links back to the source page on flickr). If I don’t like what the title drags up, I pick a different line. Rinse and repeat. Because music is more fun with pictures.
Anyhow, this song is about a lot of things. The demo is somewhat rough and bear, but there’s a part of me that hears it as a prog rock anthem, just because that would be fun.

Electronic fun, one of the more complete cuts from this album, which features mostly fully sequenced synth-based tracks in a songlet style. Continue reading
Some electronic synth-pop made entirely with a juno 106 (other than the drums and singing). I’ve played with various versions of demoing this (orchestral, piano only, etc…) but for some reason this kind feel suits the mood the most. Continue reading
All Piano. The sad one, when it all falls apart, and all that’s left is gritting teeth and ash. This was from a time when I stayed too long, or maybe she stayed too long, but if you’ve been there, you know that point where you can’t see past the heat to the person standing in front of you anymore. A simple song with a bit of groove and an ample helping of trumpet solo. Continue reading
The first cut from my abandoned album. Fun and tightly produced and appropriately self-deprecating. Continue reading
