I wrote my first song at 7. It was terrible. I’ve never stopped though. I’ve been fortunate to be part of several bands who have made my songs ridiculously fantastic. I never broke through. I went to music school, then I went to law school too. I got a job, I got married, I had a daughter. I never stopped writing, but I never really did anything with it either. I believe there is some good in these songs, and this is meant to be the place where I test that belief. What I post here is a small chunk of the hundreds of songs I’ve recorded. Rough demos mostly, with as much heart as I can muster. The song itself is what’s important to me, not the treatment I gave it when I committed it to a recording. Hopefully someone will listen and see the shapes in the stone that I’ve been slamming against. I don’t want to be famous, but I want my songs to be.
I may also start re-working some of these and posting that process as I snap up my own ideas and see how the years have changed my view.
If you make music too, reach out.
